The "Santiago de Cecilia" guitar workshop was founded in 2003 by María Cecilia Saenz and Juan Santiago Canales after completing studies and working in various lutherie workshops, where they learned the trade under the guidance of master guitarists Raúl Yagüe Díez and Juan Antonio Reyes Torres.

With the acquired knowledge of guitar construction and acoustics, the workshop was launched with the aim of applying new instrument measurement and analysis techniques to the artisanal construction of classical concert guitars, handcrafted and varnished using traditional lutherie techniques. The workshop applies the most modern instrument analysis and measurement techniques to the construction of classical concert guitars. The workshop is currently located within the Poble Espanyol complex in Barcelona.
