Rafael Romero Barroso builds with unusual mastery. He began playing the guitar at the age of twelve, a disciple of Rafael Escudier. At sixteen, he appeared on the flamenco stage, accompanying artists who are now renowned figures, such as Chano Lobato, Rancapino, Curro Malena, El Chato de la Isla, and a young girl from Cádiz who was a prominent dancer named Sara Baras. Around this time, already well-trained in the arts, he discovered his true calling as a guitar maker and received some advice from his fellow countryman, Mario Melero. He later traveled to Madrid, where he met guitarist José Romero, who would definitively foster and strengthen his innate guitar-making talents. Among his clientele were Manuel Parrilla, Juan Parrilla, Moraito Chico, "El Carbonero," and Alberto San Miguel, classical guitar professor at the Granada Conservatory. The sound of their guitars is powerful and bright, with a strong flamenco character. It's a very versatile guitar, perfect for both concerts and accompanying singing and dancing.
The medium-toned key of their flamenco guitars makes them very comfortable and easy to play.
