He follows the school of Parisian master Robert Bouchet, whose staff he employs. Since visiting the French master in 1977, the two have become close friends. His love of perfection has led many young people to come to his workshop to learn the mysteries and charms of this noble craft from the woodworking professor. Among others, we can mention his nephew José Marín Plazuelo and José González López, who have chosen to remain by his side.
He entered the world of guitar making with no family background and after overcoming many difficulties during his time in various cabinetmaking workshops, until Recadero Veredas noticed his excellent tool skills and took him to his workshop. In 1957, he joined the workshop of Maestro Pérez, and two years later, his father advised him to visit Cuesta de Gomerez, at the foot of the Alhambra, where Eduardo Ferrer was waiting for him. He established a close relationship with him and began his career as a guitar maker. In 1977, he visited master luthier Robert Bouchet in France, considered one of the most important in history, with his instruments being among the most valued among collectors' guitars. The two worked together on several guitars, and Antonio has continued his school ever since, remaining his only disciple, using his methods, templates, and timing. His love of perfection has led both young and old to come to his workshop to learn the mysteries of this noble craft from the master and become permanent fixtures. At just turned 80, Antonio Marin Montero continues tirelessly, day after day, creating sounds that will fill the souls of guitarists.
