José Romero is one of the last artisan guitar makers, or guitar builders, as he calls himself. He came to Baeza, Jaén, as a child, driven by his family in search of a better future.
In 1968, at the age of fourteen, he began working at Jose Ramirez's house as an apprentice guitar maker. By seventeen, he was an Officer's Assistant, and a year later, he was a Second Class Officer. After completing his military service, he applied for the First Class Officer test (which he passed with flying colors), presided over by the master luthier Jose Ramirez. Since then, in love with his profession and with a wealth of experience, he continues making guitars with the same enthusiasm and enthusiasm he had when he started at fourteen. The need to create his own instruments led to the founding of the workshop, where he has been making his guitars since June 6, 1983, to the present day. Every guitar that leaves his workshop reflects the professionalism and talent of this expert luthier.
